Sport fans, sometimes also called sport devotees, followers, or supporters, are persons who are enthusiastically devoted to a particular athlete, team or sport. They may show their enthusiasm by often attending sporting events or watch on television, being members of a fan club, follow sport news through newspapers, online websites, and creating fanzines. Their disposition is often such that they will experience a game or event by living through their favored players or teams. These behaviors manifest itself in different ways. They wear their team colors when their team is winning and are eager and always quick to point to the team’s victories. The opposite is the case when loosing-they keep a very low profile. The fair weathered fan is worried about what others will say to them about their team so they try to avoid people that will give them grief about their team’s loss. When their team is under performing, it is hard to tell that they are a fan of the team. These types of fans tend to buy team merchandise when their team is winning and only show up for games during this period of winning.
The second type of fan is the bandwagon fan. They are the type of fans that are not devoted to any one team. Their favorite team might change every year because they always root for the team that is supposed to win. Bandwagon fans love the chance to brag about their team and, since they always choose the best team, they get to do it a lot. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish between a super-fans and a bandwagon fan because...

As an avid sports fan, there is nothing more exciting than going to a sporting event of my favorite team. To be surrounded by other sports fans who are rooting for the same team as you brings a sense of togetherness. The feeling of "this is our team" and "if they win I win" brings all sports fans together. However, even with this togetherness bond between sports fans, they can be classified into four distinct categories.
The first category and the most common is the casual sports fan. The casual sports fan will be dressed in very comfortable clothing and will usually be sitting in the middle section of the arena. You can usually spot casual sports fans with a beer in their hands, but they will never get drunk. They enjoy going to the game for the game. Whenever they can get tickets to a game, they will come to watch the game because they love the sport. It really doesn't matter who their team is playing against, as long they get to watch their team in action.
Another category of the sports fan is the social sports fan. This lovely group of fans comes to the game strictly to be seen. They usually have the best seats in the house, even though they don't really watch the game. It's almost like a fashion show with this group of fans. The men and women will put on their best garb and walk up and down the aisles with beer or wine in their hands. I don't think they know what sport they are watching. You can count on many of them leaving before the game is over to beat the traffic on their way to their next social event.
Then we have the die-hard sports fan. The die-hard sports fans usually have season tickets for many years. They know everything and anything about their team, from the coach's middle name to how many points so and so scored thirteen years ago on that day. These are the fans that believe that their team will make the playoffs even when their team has...
